The Time Capsule: Jamaica Plain

This class was centered on the practice of street photography as a method to understand the environment and its dynamics. Students took walks around the neighborhood and select areas they are interested in continuing to explore and understand through the camera.

Students began with photography as a direct representation of the space as is, and developed towards a re-interpretation of place using different techniques. The last portion of the class explored the idea of imagining what a place could be.

Explore the second part of this project under the annual theme "The Land of The Gift" (Spring 2015) here.
