Urbano's goal is to provide Boston's urban teens with a safe and challenging space in which to explore not only their own artistic interests, but also to take their place within a larger community of artists and engaged citizens.
As of September 2009 our nationally acclaimed Artists' Workshops and Teen Curatorial Program have resumed in a new contemporary studio space in Jamaica Plain's historic Brewery building. As teens from across the city arrive for the first classes of our inaugural semester, Urbano urgently needs your help.
It will cost approximately $64,000 to complete the renovation of our new space and purchase digital media equipment and studio supplies for our young filmmakers, designers, performers, and visual artists. To ensure that our first year of collaborative artmaking, community participation, and contemporary performances and exhibitions is a success, we need your support now!
We invite you to help us generate immeasurable impact with a donation of any amount. Your support now is critical to continue Urbano's work. Please help us demonstrate to these young artists our commitment to offering them a place in a community of caring adults and fellow creators who believe in their potential and wish to support them as much as we do.
